From the very beginning, Buckhorn Children & Family Services has relied on the generosity of individual friends, churches, and donors to help us offer the highest level of care to the children, adults and families we serve.

 

Now, over 100 years later, our friends and contributors continue to help us meet critical needs, giving our children, adults and families hope for a better life.

And today, the need is greater than ever.

The number of abused and neglected children removed from Kentucky homes is at an all-time high. Most of these children come to us from homes ravaged by poverty and violence, substance abuse, neglect, and other forms of abuse that no child should ever have to endure, making them vulnerable to mental, physical, and behavioral health issues.

For so many of these children, BCFS is their greatest hope.

Here at Buckhorn, we’re ready to welcome any child who needs us, forever pursuing new and innovative programs and services that can help us provide the healing sanctuary these children and families need.

Even with so many worthy causes in the world today, our supporters realize that our mission is significant and timeless: we are a voice for Kentucky’s most at-risk kids.  Before coming to us, these children suffer in silence. But with us, they know they are not alone, that someone is by their side fighting for them, and that the pain they’ve had to keep secret for so long is finally being put into words the world can understand.
